It is worth getting hard over. In my opinion its a safety of flight issue. It forces the scenario where there could be a mechanical issue with the aircraft and either pilot knows that if they write it up, it could well result in the flight being canceled. That means loss of up to 4 hours pay credit on an out and back.
Pay credit should never be a deciding factor when making a decision whether to write something up or not. |

Well that's 2 down and how many to go? I'm sure you can find other flaw(s) at other Regional Airlines out there too. Seems like options are getting limited and for a second I thought life at the Regional was going to be wonderful with six figure pay and great pension. bummer :(
Your options certainly are not "limited" either. There are over 20 regional airlines in the U.S and A, all of them hiring right now. I would encourage anyone looking into applying for their first regional job to do their homework, research the contract, and use recourses such as this web site to narrow down the ones that are worth applying to. Like I said earlier, I find it intriguing that so many people stand up to defend their precocious regional. Its not like I said your girlfriend was fat, just pointing out what I consider to be an unacceptable practice. Rationalize all you want. Good luck, and I hope you don't get grounded by a snow storm or something. Christmas is coming up, you need the money! |

Just sucks if u pick up open time and it gets canceled on ur there goes ur time and a half . Happened to me 2 twice last month but what can u do . For those looking for a job, TSA has leg-by-leg cancellation pay. Including open time pickups. The jets are less shiny, though... |

Welcome aboard? What, are you the flight attendant now? Why would you welcome someone to an airline that doesn't even offer cancelation pay?
The more people you "welcome" the less chance you have of getting paid what you deserve. |

Wow! Someone is bitter. ... And to answer your question; no I'm not a flight attendant. I've flown for a few carriers around the world. I agree, that the regionals do suck when it comes to pay work rules ect. But it's a regional! Most of us are here waiting for the mainline carriers to open up. I left a pretty lucrative international contract to be closer to ailing family members. I'm grateful to have the opportunity to stay current and work for a company who has such a great pilot group. But, that's just my $0.02
RDU is a great base with great folks. Just like the rest of the airline, most of the CA's are ex Comair. You will fly with great folks. If you feel comfortable, could you post your interview expirence? I've been getting PM'ed for current interview gouge, but I don't have anything currently to provide. |

No...... They ask that you stay 1 year as a curtesy.
Unless you did mean curtesy, which is; a tenure by which a husband, after his wife's death, held certain kinds of property that she had inherited |

When is the next class date for GoJet? From the past messages i'm guessing there's one in October and one in November. Any idea on the exact dates of these classes and if they have already been filled? Thanks!
|
The next class is Oct 14 and I believe is full already, but November should have some open seats. Have you interviewed yet or got one schedule?

Can anyone speak to this? October 1st and 2nd Phoenix, AZ October 8th Orlando, FL October 10th Daytona Beach, FL October 11th West Palm Beach, FL October 13th Raleigh, NC October 15th Dallas, TX October 15th Washington, DC (IAD) October 17th Denver, CO October 19th Las Vegas, NV October 22nd Sacramento, CA October 29th and 30th **** St Louis (headquarters)**** Please let us know if any of these locations work for you. Once we get a response back, we will give you the location and the necessary paperwork that you will need to fill out and bring with you to the interview. GoJet Airlines does not pay airfare for you to fly to any of these places except ** St Louis.** This is for a First Officer position only. We are not hiring street Captains at this time. We look forward to hearing from you! Sincerely, -GoJet Pilot Recruiter and the GoJet Recruiting Team They are only "visiting" these cities this month. Didn't say anything specific about a job fair......but possible!;) And as WMU05 stated, you have to be offered an invite to interview first before you get to choose which city and what date. |
If you can catch the recruiters at the hotel bar, you're pretty much guaranteed the job. Skip the trip to St.louis. It wouldn't hurt to pick up the tab either. What they usually do is qualify you at the job fair, and then conduct interviews in St.Louis or if your lucky enough to live in a city where their associated flight schools are located,(NAA or Aerosim) you will have a much more pleasurable experience. Good Luck.

Shouldn't THEY pay YOUR tab? I guess if you go work here, get used to paying to play... |

Catching them in a social setting would probably be a good idea though. As it is with most any company. |

Go-Jet new hire info
Probably misrepresented themselves on their paperwork.

I'm just saying, if your the one searching for the job and pursuing them, yea buy the drinks. It's not like they were head hunters recruiting you to join their team. Btw, just an idea of what you can expect from training pay as a new hire.. $600 every two weeks for two months. Plan accordingly.
