It seems slightly narcissistic. In reality, this is all one pilot body. just different people under different contracts.

I am pretty sure anyone that flies from SkyWest, Republic and who ever else that does American flying does not refer to themselves as American Eagle. For anyone outside or the AE circle, I think you will find nobody really cares if you were Legacy American Eagle or not.

so the Eagle under Simmons, Metro, and Chaparral, was not the real Eagle ? the real one was "legacy" Eagle

you think this is the first time one brand was flown by multiple subcontractors ? how long you been in this business ?

Default AE CRJ700's chop chop?

Well, I hate to say, I scored barely high enough on my SAT's to learn how to fly a plane, but not to understand the airlines. What's the difference between the "real" Eagle and all the other Eagles?

From what I understand; Simmons, Metro, Chaparral, BizEx, Nashville Eagle, Executive Airlines (although Executive operated on a seperate certificate, up to last year, but payed by AE and under the same MEC) and a few others where all merged together several year ago, or more, to form American Eagle Airline. One company that is now referred to as L-EGL (Legacy Eagle), since now, the "American Eagle" name has been re-purposed as a 'brand' which is now also operated by other outside carriers. And yes, RAH uses the "American Eagle" name on their PA's, and refers to themselves as "American Eagle". (Disclaimer: I'm not saying that they do this on purpose, but that that's the way their pre-recorded PA's and briefing cards address them when operating an AE flight). We use L-EGL to differentiate ourselves from the outside operators when talking about company issues, and to alleviate confusion as to who we are talking about.

Actually this is not true, every SKW and EXJ crew that I've talked to and heard of have always used their airline's name to include their FA. On the hand, RAH pilots and FA routinely say the fly for "Republic Eagle", "American Eagle" or "American". Yes I've hear all 3 of these and I am not the only one. There have been fun explanations to why they call themselves this but the one they use the most is Republic Eagle, on the Eafle Forum there are many threads with FB post from RAH folks calling themselves this and salivating over flying more Ejets on behalf of AA.

***discalimer***. It's new hires who say this crap as they don't know better, but you don't see this with SKW and EXJ. Republic Eagle, ha ha.

LiveLeak.com - I do not want to sit next this guy during flight

While the video is funny listen to the PA. This is what were are talking about when they call them selves American Eagle. Just another slap in the face.

It is a complement that American has decided to keep "American Eagle" brand name and paint all of it's RJ's in this livery. Because it recognizes the hard work we've done over the years to create such a name that the passengers respect. Now to still call us American Eagle and let others do the same is an insult to the hard working employees of L-Eagle.

Listen, instead of making such a big deal about little things like, RAH employees calling themselves "AE", why dont we worry about supporting the REAL American Eagle employees and ask what can we do to support them. RAH, SKW, XJET employees are not at fault and should not be put thru the heat for flying the "forbidden colors".

This is not a war among ourselves, remember that.
