The best thing you Eagle pilots can do is go work at a major or legacy. Quit fighting to try and save your crappy regional and focus your efforts on getting out of there. Yes, I said "crappy regional" because all regionals are crap compared to a major airline when it comes to pay and quality of life. I see this now that I'm at a major.
The more you guys try to fight and save regional airlines, the longer these places will linger and degrade the profession. If the regionals continue to get worse, my hope is that no one will want to work for them. That, coupled with the pilot shortage, will hopefully cause these cesspool regionals to collapse and put the jobs back where they belong.

Lol.
You think we want to be stuck here? MANY of us have been trying for YEARS to get hired someplace better. We have apps in everywhere, attend job fairs, have recommendations.. Check all the boxes plus extras, Yet never even get the opportunity to even interview.

While the video is funny listen to the PA. This is what were are talking about when they call them selves American Eagle. Just another slap in the face.
It is a complement that American has decided to keep "American Eagle" brand name and paint all of it's RJ's in this livery. Because it recognizes the hard work we've done over the years to create such a name that the passengers respect. Now to still call us American Eagle and let others do the same is an insult to the hard working employees of L-Eagle.
That pax was probably acting that way due to the fact that he was flying on RAH posing as L-American Eagle. I cant imagine if it was PSA or Colgan.Originally Posted by N12345

Says the guy/gal who has made it to the majors and no longer has a dog in this fight. I agree with you but it is very easy, sitting where you are, to make a comment like the one above no matter how true it is. Congrats on making it to the Majors! Not trying to start a debate. The majority of regional pilots looked at regionals as a stepping stone. Since the airline market is so volatile one never knows when the hiring will pick up at the majors. It's easier to get a job when you have a job and that is especially true with airlines. I've never been at a major so I don't have the perspective that you have but have have no doubt that what you say is 100% true about comparable QOL. Originally Posted by texaspilot76

Again congrats on making it to the "show!"

Jesus, what a blue ribbon post of hypocrisy. Now that YOU are at a "major", you belittle those still there as if you were never there and as if it is THEY that are dragging down the profession. You apparently are oblivious to your own little contribution to the existence of regional carriers, especially since they got you where you are and my guess is based on your comments, you didn't lift a finger to make yours a career option for those who don't have the option to go to a major.Originally Posted by texaspilot76

That's quite a high horse you're screaming down to the unwashed from there pal.
Why not try to raise the standards at every regional and give mainline less of a financial reason to try to get regionals to accept bigger and bigger aircraft? We all want to see the maximum number of aircraft at mainline that we can.
