"The parent company of American Airlines, which is in the midst of a federal lawsuit seeking to block its proposed merger with US Airways, posted a profit of $289 million in the third quarter."
-USA Today Oct 17 2013
That is a quote regarding the 2013 Q3 results. How can they possibly ask for concessions when they are making $289,000,000 dollars over 3 months?? Let that number sink in. What a bunch of greedy a$$ holes in management. It's disgraceful that they have the nerve to ask Eagle to take a concession. I'm offended and I don't even work there. If anyone takes a concession right now then there is no hope. I hope the MECs protect y'all and tell them to go pound sand. At SkyWest the rumors are that we are about to get offered raises. Everyone else should too.

Update for those interested,
I was in attendance for most of the MEC meeting yesterday afternoon. The Company wanted to talk hard numbers with the MEC and most if the company briefing was under executive session, behind close doors. Our union has decided to peruse a counter proposal to the company, late last night and today they will be meeting to decide exactly how to counter the company's proposal. The message from the MEC is clear, they are going to rush and their current demands and proposal is unacceptable. The MEC places some value to the company's enhanced flow but not to the point the company does as we currently have agreements in place that if executed as agreed by the company compare to what it's being offer with the exception of the most junior 100 pilots and any new hires. The current flow proposal benefits management as a way to attract new hire as most of us on property have a similar agreement. The guarantee of 60 airplanes is not even close as it only guarantees jobs for less than 700 pilots. The MEC still stands strong that the company is planing on metering the 824 and that is against the agreement as they have demonstrated the ability to flow more than 20 as they are offering it in exchange of concessions. The MEC will continue to peruse the grievance filed and await the interpretation of the arbitrator.
Pedro address everyone and mentioned that the pilots are not the only group making changes as they cut close to 70 management positions last month... Take that for what is worth. The MEC wants the company to provide concrete numbers why the pilots must take cuts while our peers at compass got raises and the current proposal at EXJ is better than what we currently have and they want us to go lower. Our MEC is in talks with RAH and they are awaiting what happens at AE, but the current proposal. So we have an idea of what is being offered. Our MEC has stated that they won't due what PSA MEC did and rush with no substantial numbers just for a few airplanes written on a piece of paper.
The meeting continued into the night and they will be back today. There was no alpa national there. The reason there have been no updates is because the meeting is on going but I would presume that we will hear official updates sometime in the next 24 hrs.
