ALL the ex-EAL pilots I know did well at other outfits. Sounds like a personal problem...

For those of you who have posted, please edit your post if you have an ATP.

Can't figure out how to edit things, but I'm an ATP rated pilot.

ATP, two type ratings, 5,500 total. Left my regional about 4 years ago to fly light jet part 91 for more than double the pay i was making. Schedule is so,so, but the money is good. Would never go back to regional or LLC, but would probably take job at a major if offered job, which i don't see happening soon. They are still on a who ya know kind of basis. On a side note, i interviewed at Jetblue last year, but did not take job after putting some serious thought into it. Something did not seem right with that place.

jetBlue had some problems initially, but its matured nicely. The only thing missing is Union representation. The pilots advisory group doesn't seem to be able to gain any traction versus their management.

The striking and then finding other work is a personal problem?
Sounds like a good outcome.

ATP 6000+tt 3 type ratings had a short stint as a CA at my prior regional. Left about a year and a half ago for a 135 job. The schedule leaves something to be desired, but I make way more than I ever would as a permanent FO at my stalled out regional. Plus I get paid to indulge in my second passion, hunting. Don't get much better than that. I'll hang tight here till I get the call from a major.

I'd like to add that I think the regionals should offer first year pay based on your experience, may be through a points system.
For example, 1 point for every 1,000 hours you have, 1 point for every type rating you have, and 1 point for every year of part 121 experience you have. That would put me at 15 points, or an additional $15 an hour, so if the base year 1 F.O. pay was $25 an hour, I would be on $40.
No offence to the new guys starting out, but why should someone with thousands of hours and years of experience be paid the same as someone just starting out at his first regional gig?
This is the kind of idea I would expect a union to present so they can justify taking 2% of my paycheck. Wishful thinking I guess.

+5000 hours. 121 Regional ERJ145 and Alaska 135...

After furlough I landed a job Flight Instructing in the USA for a European Airline.
The pay is currently $60k due to be $70k in 3 years.

My wife told me if I ever went back to the the airlines she would divorce me. I guess she likes having me home every night and on weekends. If I ever lost this job, it would take $40k 1st year with a significant increase year 2 to get me back.....
