I used to think they'd have problems but just based on even this forum alone there seems to be a staggering amount of guys flocking to These airlines despite the crappy contracts and pay... Why? There seems to be one common denominator.... New airplanes! The SJS is so blinding that the things that matter like contract and pay are evidently entirely ignored!
Coming from the mil side I've done nothing but fly big jets...my transition to the airline world would be based solely on what works best for my family in terms of qol....I don't care what airplane it is.
Disclaimer: I do not work for an airline.

Does everyone here just ignore the fact that a lot of people pick a place to work based on location/living in base? Seems to me like making a few bucks less an hour but living where you work is worth it for someone...everyone has to determine what their qol/time is worth.

However, the discussion here is not about living in a convenient place. It's about sacrificing pay for bigger Jets. And the answer should always be NO. But apparently 1 in 5 pilots just don't get it.

Tunes, this is totally legitimate and most people will agree that a move close to home is a good move. Period.

Think a B scale would put people off? Anyone remeber the Pay To Play companies?
"There's a sucker born every minute." As long as there is a percieved looming pilot shortage, suckers will bite. So the question is can EMAU, ATP, etc, hire a marketing company that is able to lure in enough of those suckers.
A regional pilot group that is willing to vote in a B scale to help fill the ranks (oh, and get to that left seat faster) better not b***h when Marvelous Mainline pilots give up more scope for their own higher pay. Its the same d*** thing.
