I just saw that hotels.com commercial with "captain obvious."
Reminded me of the above comment.
Congrats to the guys at Mesa who are upgrading. Those who don't like it need to get over their jealousy.

Why does everyone assume that those upgrading went from bashing the pattern in a Cessna to the right seat of an RJ ,to the left seat after 18 months?
What about the guys with thousands of hours and several type ratings who were forced to start over again, and refused to wait another 5 years to get back in the left seat?
Too may little girls all butt hurt because they wanted to go to the "cool" regional, and now regretting their decision because they could be upgrading right now.
2 year captain pay at a bad regional is better than 2 year F.O. pay at a good one, (if there is such a thing.)

Hopefully this time it's different but I think shrinking consolidation mergers and acquisitions are on the horizon for the regional industry.

Any further upgrades on the CRJ will go even more junior due to the 1000 121 hrs. If you're lucky, you get 80 hrs credit/mo. I'm guessing half the spots going forward will be prior 121 recycles that skip large groups of 'more senior' pilots.
Mesa sucks yes, however the training department is excellent. You'd never guess Mesa had anything to do with it.

Are you going to hold out for the embraer because it has auto throttles and the anti-ice is automatic?
