Guess what!? 1.5 yr CA upgrade @ YV is real!

Sad because there are sellouts who are ignoring history...ComAir strike for better pay and work rules for all of us. Sad because there are sellouts who are happy to undercut their peers. Sad because there are sellouts who are chasing upgrades regardless of pay and work rules. Sad because there are sellouts who will do anything to fly a shiny new jet. Sad because you will never know, never understand.
Since bringing the flying back, they've negotiated improvements in each contract and are currently negotiating another one.
Are you familiar with Jonathan Ornstein?
As I've said before, I don't work at Mesa. These are facts, and pertinent history that every regional pilot should know.

If you're insinuating that the Mesa guys sold out to grow, you're sorely mistaken. In fact quite the opposite. In the 2000s, their illustirious leader started an alter ago carrier to fly newly awarded CRJs (Freedom "A"). They later took concessions to bring that flying back in house, and to combine the seniorty lists, eliminating what could have turned into a massive alter ego regional. Had they let that continue, and made the selfish choice to fatten their own wallets (via gains offered to let Freedom "A" continue to operate), it could have set a terrible precedent for the regional industry.
Since bringing the flying back, they've negotiated improvements in each contract and are currently negotiating another one.

Now, name calling, poop slinging, or anything with the words "sellout", "bend over", "bottom feeder", or "shiny jet" will automatically make you correct.
You will from then on have won the internet.

One of the most ignorant posts I've seen and I just (speed)read this whole thread.
Show me any airline in the USA that isn't low pay. Pretty much all the airlines are scumbag operations these days....I'm not talking just regionals. It amazes me how pilots have sold themselves out. They are comparing rotten apples to even more rotten oranges and missing the bigger picture.
Why do we have 2500-3000 hour captains while there are 10000 hour first officers with greater skill and experience? That's the question you should be asking.
Stop comparing rotten airlines to other rotten airlines and think just a little bit why things are the way they are. I'll give you a hint...it's not about greedy management.

This whole thread is an example of how the bar will never be raised at the regional level. There will always be "upgrade chasers" who will work for any scumbag outfit in pursuit of of the elusive brass ring job. Mainline management has again correctly decided to reshuffle the regional deck, knowing shameless pilots will work indefinitely for peanuts if you dangle some shiny jets and the prospect to move up to the majors in front of them.

Looks like several guys here justify the bad decision to go to Mesa because they believe they will move on faster. Don't celebrate before you cross the finish line guys. You gotta make it through new hire training , upgrade and then pass a mainline interview. Your movement isn't guaranteed. The only thing right now that is a sure thing is you being the lowest paid in the industry. It seems Mesa guys bought the sales pitch that they have to get screwed as much as possible to move on. Many guys from better regionals move on to the majors without PIC. It's all about the money, and you won't make any. Enjoy.

Might want to hold off on the victory dance. Even the Mesa fanboys are saying the 18 month window is closed. Take a long look at FO payscales my friend, the music is about to stop.

The good news for you is that it only cost you about $70,000 and 3 years of your life to make all that cash. Your mother must be so proud of her little boy.
