I'm a sellout?

After being downgraded and furloughed at a "good" company and after working my butt off in about five ALPA positions for two regionals, I'm a sellout for chasing a quick upgrade here?

I can say the same thing of multiple other experienced people coming to Mesa for the quick upgrade now--it's not "selling out"--it's a purely cynical decision based on our experiences being at "good" regionals.

If I'm not on CA pay within 12 months, I'm going to take one of the multiple corporate/international contract gigs I can go do at anytime. Or hopefully/maybe JetBlue or Spirit. Does that make you feel any better about my "selling out?"

I'll go a step further and say that I don't think the new hires with CFI-only time chasing the quick upgrade are sellouts either. They're making a cynical (and smart) economic choice--roll the dice that they'll get in and attrition will pick up, or that further growth will happen. If it doesn't work out, guess what? Every other crappy regional will still be hiring FOs for the rest of the decade--who cares that you lost a year of RJ pay and seniority at Eagle/XJet/etc. to roll the dice on attrition/growth at Mesa?

The SELLOUTS are the individuals sitting widebody CA at a legacy who wouldn't leave when they turned 65.

I am just going to buy an upgrade and kick all the airline pilots off since you are all a bunch of babies on here....My airline is better then yours.....drama queens!

Why the heck hasn't he been banned yet for being so negative and bitter.. Grow up, get a life you loser! Seriously Facebiter, stop for just a moment and consider how many people on APC have told you what a negative, miserable individual you are, look within yourself and ask, "what am I gaining by bringing so much negativity and anger to this forum??" Almost everyone else, thanks for being mostly positive.. There are quick upgrades and faster ways to the majors aside from just following the crowd to the "good regionals". Let's all try to get along and find away to be happy for someone rather than angry and bitter..

Listen, if Lufthansa can put 350 hour commercial tickets in the right seat of 737s, why can't a 1500 hour Mesa ATP do the same thing at a U.S. major?

Because they don't. Those 350 hour people go to the 747/A330,A340 and they sit with 15,000 hour Capts and learn. They are also the 4 or 5th man in the cockpit. They don't go to the 737 or A320 right out of school.
They wear 2 strips on their shoulders just the same as KLM and the rest.
Mesa is a dump don't compare it to airlines that have actual training departments and not some dump that hires people with no interview.
The interview process that a pilot has go through at LH or KLM would make a Mesa pilot look like a high school drop out.
Don't even try to compare this.

I for one don't really care to be a part of these forums anymore. Most of the threads as of late have spiraled down into some sort delusional, immature rant that has no real value concerning any kind of useful info.

But to sum it up, life is just too short to read through pages and pages of b!tching.
