2500TT time with 1000 part 121 time is sufficient to upgrade. They don't just hand you the upgrade. I think I've plateaued on the right seat after two years... The next four was just repetition and counting the days until upgrade. Congrats to you guys upgrading so early. This industry is so rewarding for some but brutal to the rest lol

Just putting it out there, it is happening.. Also, the captain minimums are far higher than they were less than 5 yrs ago.. 2500 hours of total time is bare minimum, 1000 hours of 121 experience.. Plus it's about 1.5 years give or take a month or two.. It's not scary at all compared to guys going into 121 world with 250 hours!!
If your OP is representative of the overall level of maturity of your pilot group, god help us all.

Wow. Just wow.
This post alone illustrates the lack of maturity, experience and discretion that is required of a Captain candidate.

Absolutely do not ever want to rub anything in any other pilot groups face, that is the very last thing I would do.. We are all brothers in this industry and I wish we would all act more like it.. For example, let someone be happy and positive about something on this forum for a change! Why does everything have to be cast in a negative light immediately?

1500 hour CFIs hired at Mesa within the past year are definitely in the miniority, or at least that was the case in my class and the others right around mine. Most have former 121, 135, or corporate experience.
It's not the end of the world, and when the upgrade at Compass drops below two years these same people criticizing 2nd year captains at Mesa will be applauding them at Compass. But that's quite alright, most of us sleep just fine at night knowing that people don't like us. BFD.

Why does everyone assume that those upgrading went from bashing the pattern in a Cessna to the right seat of an RJ ,to the left seat after 18 months?
What about the guys with thousands of hours and several type ratings who were forced to start over again, and refused to wait another 5 years to get back in the left seat?
Too may little girls all butt hurt because they wanted to go to the "cool" regional, and now regretting their decision because they could be upgrading right now.
2 year captain pay at a bad regional is better than 2 year F.O. pay at a good one, (if there is such a thing.)

But who knows how long it will take to upgrade for people joining now.
