oh cool, i had 510/80 when i got picked up by Trans States, and 200of my hours came from ferrying brand new g1000 airplanes around the midwest, dodging thunderstorms that popped outta nowhere in northern texas, flying down to minimums to take the bosses daughter and friends out for spring break and what so. the other 150 were from being a CFI
so you'd fly with me instead of the 1000 hour guy cfi'ing?

It seems that a lot of accidents occur with high time pilots who are unwilling to listen to their less experienced counterparts. I don't remember the last time I heard about an airline accident (with pax onboard) that was attributed to the FO being inexperienced. Maybe instead of cutting down the inexperienced pilots you should be listening to them when they tell you that you're screwing up. The pride you display is quite evident on many accident transcipts.
Many past accidents were caused by the attitudes of those involved that cause a problem to escalate into a series of fatal errors.

you guys are saying you don't want to be in the back for that flight, well honestly they aren't going to pass you in your training if you shouldnt be up there. plus you have a captain by your side, a first officer is basically a pilot in training, you have to learn sometime
Personally, I think this is another issue that pilot contracts need to have scope on. Lowering the minimums for application only work to continue to drive pilot wages down and allow inexperienced pilots into the seat.
Just because you can shoot a single engine ILS to mins doesn't mean your qualified. A trained monkey can do that. An experienced pilot should be able to tell the captain NO when he wants to land on a snowy runway with MU values of 20/20/20 reported by an airport vehicle.

My thoughts exactly! Sounds like you got some good experience in the measly amount of time you have in an airplane. So as long as you don't shoot your mouth off, come across as an arrogant ass and make me want to hit you in the mouth 15 minutes after meeting you, then yes I wouldn't mind flying with you.
I told him i know that i'm low time, and i'm sure i might not have been around the entire CFI gig long enough for all of the experience, and he told me the best thing i've heard about this entire situation:
"As long as you realize you're low time, and you work twice as hard and are more diligent to your surroundings, you shouldn't have a single problem"
Then we dicked around for the rest of the time and he said after the 3rd leg i wouldn't have any problems at all with finishing, and i'm now on the line

This attitude is what's driving the industry lower and lower. Low time CFI's etc. that will work for absolutely nothing just fly a JET, YEAAHHHHHH!!! Yes, it is happening all over the place 350/80.

Well keep this in mind: most places have minimum time requirements to upgrade (in addition to basic ATP mins). Pinnacle for example (who is known to hire VERY low time pilots) requires 3000TT to upgrade. That means if you get hired with 500TT it will be 2.5 years MINIMUM before you can upgrade even if upgrades are running at 6 mos. So I ask again, what is your big damn hurry? The journey, not the destination, is the worthier part.
