I know it's a little Repetitive but, I have been a cfi, skydive pilot, 135 on demand FO and CA on a turbo prop. 2000tt, 500 turbine pic. And a two year degree. Looking to jump to 121. But have some legal issues. A minor in possession of Marijuana which was dismissed after some classes (I was 16yr old). Then continued my stupidity to a DWAI (drinking while ability impaired by Marijuana i was 18yr old ). Pleaded no contest to a deferred sentence(not guilty but not innocent) . Upon completion of Community service substance classes and A mad panel the case was dismissed. I'm a Canadian citizen as well as an us citizen. The first infraction was 9 yrs ago and the DWAI was a little over 7 yrs ago. I've chosen aviation as my career since then and have only gotten a seatbelt ticket. Stopped running in those circles and now my life is flying. I feel I should report these issues on resumes ? And should I stop while im young and could maybe do something else?
Thank you for your time I really appreciate it.

Do not ever fail to fully disclose on an application that which can (and will) be found on a thorough background check. I've seen people walked out of class because of exactly that kind of thing and no matter how "petty" the matter, it's never a good thing to have to explain to your next potential employer that you were only on the job 1 month because you lied on an application. Better to disclose and explain, than to lie or hide something only to have it come out later - ESPECIALLY with the airlines.
We all make mistakes. I have a reckless driving some 15 years ago that isn't even on my permanent driving record, but I still report it, because there's always the chance that it will be found. I admit it, I haven't had any such instances since, and it's never been an issue with any employer.

I only mention that because it seems after 10 years is when you don't have to report it ? I'd rather have to explain it in the interview than when I get pulled out of ground school

One guy in my class forgot to disclosed that he was arrested. He thought he didn't have to because the charges were dismissed. He was sent home for not disclosing this, even tho the case was dismissed.

IMHO absolutely confess to everything... maybe not on the resume, but certainly on any application. Seven years clean helps. If I were interviewing you, possession at 16 doesn't even rate a yawn: I know how dumb I and my friends were. DWAI, I want to hear what you did to change your decision making. 135 you have been on a random drug testing program, so that is a plus.
I have a 50 year old buddy (non pilot) who is a convicted felon: grand theft Christmas tree. He and his buddies cut down a 25 foot pine valued at $2800 for the frat house. He still has to report it. Of course, for him it becomes a laughable TMAT story that, he says, has tipped the scales in his favor. But if he DID NOT disclose it, the company could fire him at any time for filling out a fraudulent application.

That would be the nail in the coffin for any airline job - so don't do it. People will forgive mistakes that were made. What people are hesitant to forgive is knowingly attempting to deceive.

They have, and they will. It isn't a plus, but the more time that passes (especially if you have been under random drug testing anyway), the less it will matter.
