Really??? So you say that AWAC ceased flying for AirTran and then the next sentence you say someone with history may shed more light on it???
Basically AirTran didn't like there service and once they found out they could do a better job with the 717's they approached AWAC and said lets end this bad experiment.
Had an FO leave PDT to go live in his hometown of ATL and fly for AWAC. That's what he told me. And looking at google articles that's how I read it.
I wasn't taking crap about AWAC. Someone came on her bragging that AWAC doesn't sign short term deals with carriers. I said sure they do and brought up AirTran.
So is it really BS???

Have you looked at Airwhiskey completion factor and concealled flights in the US Airways system?? Last time I was in training they pulled the stats up and the only airline worse then Piedmont was AWAC. Mesa being the best.
That was the reason AirTran dumped them in the mid 2000's. While AWAC is a good place it has just as many issues as other regionals so don't full yourself.

Simply not true. At all. BS. The ending of that relationship had absolultely nothing to do with completion or ontime performance.

That whole "We don't do short term deals" consensus is the result of our management telling us the same thing every time we get a chance to ask why we don't have anything in the works.
They tell us they will not settle for any deal. They are only willing to fly a long term contract that provides good returns and a stable business. Whatever they did in the past has no relevance.

Wow it is shocking to see so much speculation.
I assume all of you are in Airline management, or you wouldn't be talking like this.
Fact is that nothing has happened. Someone saw ZW on a DL site and that has led to ZW being a bad airline that lost flying for AirTran.
First ZW does just fine at completion for Airways. ACARS time, not call it what you want time. Northeast flying mostly and you should know that's toughest out there.
If DL is asking for help with a staffing issue, and calling on ZW then fine. Its just that.
ZW did not vote in a concessionary contract to be cheap and then take jobs from another ALPA carrier. AKA PSA literally stabbing Eagle brothers in the back.
I just checked and if ZW got flying from 9E it would not be at the expense of them...geeze ZW makes a lot more on 50 seaters than 9E does on 76 seaters.
So for those of you that are in airline management training AKA BillyHOEbag if you are going to speak for airline management get your facts straight

Probably will, AW will just be another pawn in their chess game. Delta is a master at this and nothing good happens to their regional partners. Now American/US Air and United are following suit. But if you want to continue living in fantasy land, go ahead. It'll make sense some day

Yes, it would be SO AWFUL for the regional airline industry if company that quite obviously isn't the least expensive option to be awarded flying by the legacy airline that has continually set and reset the bar for whipsawing their regional feed in an effort to reduce associated expenses.
Of COURSE Air Wisconsin would be a "pawn in their chess game" - ALL regional airlines are little more than that.

Not so much anymore! Get your time in now at a place you can upgrade fast and move on. That's my advice because we you break it down it (Regionals) is all McDonalds! You can act like your regional is better and it might a few better things but in the end it's all McDonalds.

My seniority probably next summer. But with how bad Piedmont schedules have been I might just go ahead and apply now. They are not only taking people in the flow but continue to interview and hire outside the flow. We've lost like 11 people for Nov. with both. Only have a 340 pilots.

Exactly! A few Regionals used to be career airlines with solid contracts. Piedmont, AWAC, Mesaba and a few others. They are on the decline now and will be gone in the near future.

Hey that's offensive, I would rather call it a Burger King, maybe a Wendy's or In 'N Out but not McDonald's
