My company has junior-man capability, and it's only really a myth. I don't think it's happened to anyone in recent history. There are almost infinite ways out of that scenario that it's pretty much useless.
RAH likes to put little notes on the flight release to get crew members. Something along the lines of "release not valid until crew member xxxxxx contacts scheduling". They'll withhold hotel rooms on layovers until you call them or even send people to physically meet you at the gate as you arrive.

Sounds like a wonderful place to work. Is it an airline or the Mafioso? Do they break your legs if you refuse an extension?

I mean really, what's the worst that can happen, you get fired? They would be doing you a favor.

Trust me. It won't work that way for very long.

Btw 4 new-hires from January have been removed from the seniority list. Trouble during IOE?

2 never made it to ioe, one got hired by southwest the day after the checkride and the last was recalled to the usaf.

Anyone that refuses the 30 min 117 extension or 2hr extension (per 117 one time each duty cycle) you will be given an occurrence. That's right folks, if you follow 117 regs and don't want to be voluntarily extended you are punished, a pretty clear cut case of a punitive fatigue policy that the Feds look the other way.
