Not trying to stir the pot, but does an occurrence really mean anything anymore? They can hand them out all they want, but they will not fire you. If everyone takes the occurrence, what can they do? A suspension you say? I think you can explain that in an interview since real airlines have never heard of occurrences. You might blow their minds. If you don't want to extend, don't extend.

Was trying to point out the toxic culture more than anything else. I can only type "Don't go to RAH" in so many ways.

They don't even bother asking about the two hour extension. Basically, just take the FAR 117 duty time/legs table and just add two hours to every number there.

It's the same everywhere after that garbage interpretation.

I don't think RAH can afford to fire any pilots right now.

Recent RAH-alumni here. At training for my new company. When they were explaining fatigue reports/calls, I raised my hand and said "so you mean that I don't have to justify why I am fatigued, nor is it punitive if its not work induced? Because thats how my last employer treated it." You should have seen the look on the instructors face.

Either way who cares? We live in the days of whisteblower lawsuits and extreme media attention.

Not even sure how this makes sense. If the release is in the system, then the dispatcher has released the flight. The remark has no bearing on whether the release is valid or not. If its not a valid release, it should have never been sent.
