Default PSA Training Moves Like A Truck Stop Toilet

My buddy works there, got hired in April. They are so backed up they just sent him a letter saying to plan on coming back for a 3 Day "Refresher" prior to his oral. He has already been waiting 5 weeks for the oral. Now I can understand waiting on Sims or even IOE, but to let your training department get so plugged up the only solution is to to bring guys back for refresher ground school after being out of ground school 60 days???? Someone get a plunger in there and help these poor fellas out!

Either the unsat rate will skyrocket or they will relax the standard.

Good Luck!

At least it's about an actual issue that's going on now and not another discussion of whose flow that might not turn out remotely close to forecast is better than whose flow that also might not turn out remotely close to forecast.

And it is an issue. Once you put someone through ground school, you kind of have an obligation to get them at the very least through their oral in a timely manner. Otherwise you're really doing them a disservice.

Believe me I don't disagree with you one bit but as you can see there's a ton of PSA threads already made that is all I was trying to say.

Paid vacation WITH flight benefits?!?!?! Wow, why would anyone complain about that. If you are getting paid to sit at home and accrue seniority, take it.

Yeah. Because first year pay is a lot to travel on.

It sounds better to have the problem of too MANY pilots for training to handle vs. having too many instructors along with idle sims with nothing much happeneing.

Not when they told the new hire class to "not go anywhere until training is over"......"we may call you at any time" And the screwed up thing, they did recently call someone wanting them to catch a flight the next morning to go for an oral that afternoon. Wouldn't work out so well if they were in Europe backpacking on FO pay. Oh yeah, they also aren't in CASS until completion of IOE. Makes getting around a little tougher.
