...or maybe it's 60 days...I can't remember which. Either way, there is a time limit as to how long they have to get the sim done.

2 months off was great... I travelled, and didn't really study much at all. And now I'm done with IOE. So it really isn't the big deal everyone is making it out to be. I'm actually grateful for it because when else in my career am I going to just have paid time off like that? I have no complaints so far.

Wouldn't work out so well if they were in Europe backpacking on FO pay. Oh yeah, they also aren't in CASS until completion of IOE. Makes getting around a little tougher.
Has it occurred to anyone that a backup in training doesn't equate to being on paid vacation? Of course you can be called out at a moment's notice - you're on the clock; it's not hard time off! For someone to complain because they get called out on a moment's notice during that time is ludicrous. How about taking that time to continue studying so you don't unsat your oral?

There's a concept.

Quite a valid point. I appreciate the heads up and would need to address that issue.

As long as the people study during the time off, no problem at all. I wish I had more time off. But since I was in a 700 class, everything was fast paced. I don't agree that everyone will pass, psa won't give u the certificate unless u know all limitations and systems at least 80%. We are growing fast that the company and faa are making sure we weed out the unsafe and lazy pilots.

as long as you don't fly 121, 135 or 91k it doesn't affect the 117 rules and you are able to get to your training event it should not be an issue. however as you are an employee you should let the company know. I can't see any reason not to do flight instructing while you're waiting.

At $1,800 a month BEFORE taxes must have been hard. But if you consider Alabama or Mississippi for vacation then you might have hacked it.

Good Luck!

These psa threads are out of control. Stop starting them! These threads are like me taking a dump. I make a new one once a day, they all look the same, stink the same, and need to be flushed down the toilet.
