What the C-Series order means?

Agreed, but it's not just the lifers that will have a problem. Overall this and the United 737s are a good deal for the regional pilot. Most will get to move on, but some will not make the cut. Off course being hired at a Regional Airline does not mean you will make it to a Major.

Its great that you two have figured out what's best for all us pilots.
I guess when the regionals go away the CFI's will have to pass a
mainline interview or will they have to "dumb down" the interview to
get inexperienced pilots hired?
How is 172 to 777 best for the industry? I think its the opposite.

Wow. There is so much stupid in this comment that its amazing. Did ever occur to you that every swinging dick flying an RJ is ALREADY in an airline cockpit? Just because its not a mainline cockpit does not mean that its not an airline. While I agree that not everyone that flies at a regional with make it through an interview with mainline, that does not mean they aren't at an airline right now.

Article on the Majors board says first 35 airframes must be the smaller CS100 and the remaining 40 firm + 50 options could be converted to the bigger CS300. No doubt the first 35 CS100s will replace regional feed.
This whole wet dream that somehow these airframes are going to kill the regional model is laughable.

According to Ed Bastian. 5 years from now Delta will have no 50 seaters and fewer 76 seaters. Very interesting...
