i flew with a guy recently that got turned down by United before he even got past the hogan. He said it was "their loss". He got angry when I said " no man, it was YOUR loss. You lost the opportunity. You lost the huge income increase. It's your loss". Some lifers rationalize anything. Good for me though as it's another spot for a newbie.

One less guy at a major. As Skywest continues to reduce capacity, the quicker I get out the better.

This type of thinking is absolutely baffling.
Everyone has favorites, nothing wrong with that. But I think that one should be realistic. You can have top picks but that doesn't exactly mean that I feel entitled to be chosen to work for those companies.

I subscribe to the belief that you should go with the legacy that chooses you. I'll apply to them all. But those two, just happen to be my top two.

That's all.

Only about 20% of any regional will be Delta qualified, probably less. Over the years, I have seen about 7 out of 10 pilots move on, with 3 of those 7 going to a legacy. Statistically, you will be moving on, but not likely to a legacy.

Don't worry, JB22 has been riding jumpseats and asking for letters of recommendation. He will be at a major before you know it.

Make the grade? Are they not in an airline cockpit ? Does your poo smell?

Ya know, if these guys "can't make the grade"? Why are they flying with "Delta", "United", and "American" in huge letters on the outside of their aircraft? This is the most hypocritical CRAPOLA; if they down these guys for cause, they should be forbidden from flying on aircraft with the company name on them. This whole regional system STINKS!

We all do the same exact job as the "elite" main line guys. We all know about the "job" and what it requires.
What you have no control over is the cookie cutter look HR wants to represent their brand, and what vision they have in their minds as what an airline pilot is. HR sillyness.
United wants to hire 7000 pilots over the next 10 years? American is retiring 90% of their pilots in the next 10 years? And there is everyone else too!
There will be opportunity for everyone to move on to a better place than a regional.

Article on the Majors board says first 35 airframes must be the smaller CS100 and the remaining 40 firm + 50 options could be converted to the bigger CS300. No doubt the first 35 CS100s will replace regional feed.
