You have something printed that shows they are picking them up for anything but parts birds? Also AA's got 81/82/83's, Delta's are all 88s.

A lot of Grandpas flying around, that's for sure.

This type of thinking is absolutely baffling.
Agree. More mainline (larger) planes means fewer planes flying all together, meaning fewer pilots. Which means more competition at all levels. Better for the profession? Maybe so. But there would be a lot of hurt too. Especially for hot shots that think they will be automatically called by a legacy after their regional shuts down..

Did it occur to any of you rocket scientists that not every swinging dick flying an RJ belongs in an airline cockpit? Fewer, but higher quality jobs is a good thing. If it hurts the feelings of a bunch of lifers that can't make the grade, oh well, that's life.

It's not just lifers that can't make the grade. A lot of new hires these days will be getting quite the wakeup call in the next few years. By then it'll be too late.

So what you are saying then is "one level of safety" is a lie?

Even at mainline, your still fighting for the king of the crap pile. Anyone going into this profession, knowingly accepting the lifestyle needs their head examined
