As of July 1, XJT has hired 169 pilots that are still with the company since January 1. Averages to about 28/month. 72 on the LASA side and 97 on LXJT side.

Skywest 70
Endeavor 55
Compass ? 25 ?
TSA <10
PSA 10-15
Republic ?
Envoy 20
Piedmont <10
Commutair 10-20?
Expressjet 30
Silver/Greatlakes/Penair ? 30 total?

So 200-250 guys entering the 121 world each month. 5% fail out maybe. 2500/yr civilian , that's about the ammount of retirements right ? Seems like the pipeline is fine, just not producing a surplus.

They do not want anyone to believe that. If there is not a surplus of pilots they can't keep their cheap feed of regionals. Anyone who would start a career in the airlines now needs to have their head examined.

There is no pilot shortage! The more applicants they get the more they can keep poverty wages.

How many at Mesa?
Also, Great Lakes has no shortage of FO applicants for the 135 side. Lots of guys still coming up through the pipeline.

I wonder how many are retreads? Seems like if mesa and gojet and gteat lakes are filling classes there's little hope wages will improve.

I know that Great Lakes is not filling classes. They need 121 FOs and captains. The apps they were getting were for 135 FO, no shortage of 250hr commercial pilots.

I don't have a quantifiable number but many of pdt people are not new fresh. Mostly people from other airlines or people who were in the airlines years ago.
