Highest hiring minimums

what is it with everyone trying to find the lowest minimum airline. hold out for the one you want. Hold out for the pay you want. It when everyone just jumps on a regional job just cause it's a job flying for the airlines that pay starts getting lower and QOL get's trashed.

AMEN! Back not too long ago the move from CFI or newly minted multi-engine pilot to the regionals were unheard of. Lots of us had to grind it out on the backside of the clock hauling cargo in some pretty good looking airplanes. I think the newest plane I ever flew cargo in was a 1961 Commander! Good times!

Piedmont's posted mins are pretty high; 1000/200 "minimum", with 1500/300/ATP "competitive" ....but like a lot of others, they are hiring well below these.
Decent pay, great contract, fun planes, but I've heard the training is insanely difficult and fast paced (you're going 6 days per week, only 4 days of systems, very hardcore AQP program...heard one of the last classes, everyone failed one of their check rides)...

Definately don't agree with that. You NEED to come prepared, but the shorter ground school results in reduced standards more than increased difficulty. I did PDT as a 700 hour CFI and didn't think it was any harder than doing SKYW with 121 expereince. If people are failing out it might be more of an indication of who they're hiring.

I can't help but question the training if everybody in the whole class failed that check ride...but it could be they hired a whole bunch of unprepared people, but they were mostly UND/PURDUE products, who usually are pretty sharp...
So how did you like it there, btw? I'd be interested to hear another pdt person's experience with the company...I've been hearing conflicting takes on the place. Thanks.

There should be a sign on the door to the crew room in Salisbury that says: "All ye abondon all hope who pass through these gates" or whatever Dante said.
