Looks like another stretched version of the 700/900. How far do you think this stretch will go (128 ft 4.7 in for the CRJ1000)? Especially when they get to the 130 seater!

Any major's pilot union that would allow an aircraft that size to be scoped into a regional would have to be crazy.
Unfortunately, if a regional got one... they'd be able to find pilots to fly it for cheap. Even with all these regional jets being operated by unionized work groups, the unions don't seem to have the backbone to raise their own wages.

What major management wants and what they get will be different. US Air management wanted (of course) for the 190 to be at Republic. It's at mainline. Thank God the folks at US Air put their foot down on that one.

I bet Larry "The Bean Counter" Kellner is dying to find a way to get the pilots of CAL to cave on the scope so he can get COLGAN guys to fly the EMB 170/190's He would just love that

This means the RJ is officially dead. The Ejet is here. Management is going to try to fly these things as RJ or sub-RJ rates. If we, as pilots, fall for it, we have no one to blame but ourselves for the downward spiral.
Legacy pilots must demand that Ejets be flown at narrowbody rates by legacy pilots, not regional partners.
