I haven't heard on too many, if any, pilots there were pro-SAPA. Sounds like we will find out whether or not enough people are drinking the ALPA kool-aid to get them in here.

cant but laugh here at this NON union carrier " taking " flying from a UNION carrier.........hipocrate f%^Gs!

of course they will say since its after the fact its ok......HIPPOCRATES!
I might just be tired, but are you referring to skywest as hippocrates?

If so the sad part of this is...ITS NOTHING NEW!!! Skywest has worked for delta and united for quite a while now, and no one really said anything about it then. In the case with united, ACA and then AWAC pulled out and skywest blossomed and grew BIG TIME. That was 3 years ago they started undercutting union carriers. I have never heard a peep about it from anyone, let alone not even a union united pilot.

Union or nonunion, its funny how there are no responses in regards to the skywest group selling out *everyone*, so that skywest can fly the 900 series aircraft instead of ASA for crap money.

Do other companies offer stock options and profit sharing like SKW? Just curious because I have other resumes out there.

i believe AWAC matches your 401K contribution, but i dont think any other companies (unless you count jetblue as a regional which it very well should be at this point) have those profit sharing things, which youre not eligible for at skywest until youre there 2 years or so (someone correct me on that if im wrong). youre eligible for stock purchase after 90 days but good luck putting into that. my paychecks every two weeks are about $450.

sitting reserve and only getting called to fly 2 out of 5 days. that paycheck is after tax, benefits, and uniform deduction.

Oh ok well I've expected that. Where are you based? How long have you sat reserve? Regardless I plan on maxing my stock option contribution since it's an extra 15% over the top. Then I can contribute that to the 401k if need be. But the stock option seems like a better deal to max first.

XJT offers profit sharing I believe, not sure what else now with the new contract. AWAC has a match program in relation to your contribution, plus an automatic 3% added to your account.

On-time bonuses and profit sharing are great and all, but they shouldn't be accepted as a substitute for a guaranteed pay rate. What happens to your pay when/if the company doesn't show great profits? Or when your ontime performance suffers due to weather? Answer: You make less!!!

with the stock purchase you are required to open an account through their specific broker, you cant use your own. when you go to sell the stock, you get a hefty transaction fee, the way to avoid this is to roll over that account into your own personal account. DEN-based for a month and a half now, should be off reserve in the next 1-2 months who knows.

No profit sharing for anyone under 2 years seniority at SKW. The stock options I believe come after 3 years and take another couple to vest. The amount you get are useless anyways. ESPP I suppose is a good deal.
