Yep, sounds user error for the OP's friend, not that they are too junior for DCA.

To clarify, not too junior to get DCA, but the past few months too junior to be awarded any vacancies.

Yea, to clarify, it was a vacancy bid and havent been able to be awarded a vacancy the past 3 cycles. Didn’t mean DCA was senior, just that recently vacancy bids have gone more senior than 11/6

Makes sense... I just looked back at the August and September vacancy awards, and even the backfill awards went to people more senior than me. I guess those 5 junior guys got lucky prior to that.

New vacancies just got posted... 4 FO's at IAH, and 2 at MIA, among the other usual spots. None at DCA though. However, there may be a decent chance that some DCA people will move to MIA or IAH, leaving spots available for backfill at DCA.

As expected still not projected to get MIA vacancies. Also, 11/6 class’s IOE schedules go into mid/late June depending on base, with about 3 days shy of a month between LOE and first day of IOE, no reason to complain about a nice paid vacation.

Does Republic allow Beards, for at least guys with medical skin conditions? I have a short 3/8 inch, well groomed beard. I am currently in the military and have had it for the last 10 years, since I was diagnosed. I know there was a study done in Canada that busted the myth of not being able to obtain a proper seal on aviation O2 masks. I get fitted every other year for masks in the military, both positive pressure and Chemical / Biological. Its one of those 15 minute seal tests, where you have to read out of a book while moving your head in multiple uncomfortable positions. The machine says I get a good seal every time.

I know other countries airlines allow beards, and I know Hawaiian allows them, but was unsure about Republic, or any others.

Any info would be appreciated (except your personal opinion on why you don't like beards)

Our style guide (sadly) does not permit beards.

Man, I was hoping this would be different... I'm in the 12/11 class, LOE on 6/8/19. After waiting 3.5 months for INDOC, I'd honestly rather not have another paid vacation.

Yea, we waited 4 for indoc so I get the frustration but its out of my control so gotta see the glass half full. Big per diem check from the last month of training and paid time off after a stressful few weeks to relax and enjoy your achievements isn’t the worst thing in the world. Good luck on LOE, are you guys in STL or CVG?
