Why would you not? You’ll have to at some point anyway. Not sure I follow the logic of holding off.

Because if you accept a class date, they postpone or cancel class date, or you get through part or all of training and then get furloughed, because you're at the bottom of the list, you're suddenly without income, praying your old job will take you back for the time being.

Thats not going to happen. We’re so understaffed as it is right now the only thing this reduced flying is going to do is allow us to staff these planes without offering red flag every day. Remember we still don’t even have all those compass planes online yet. The longer you wait the further down you’ll be on the seniority list when you eventually do show up for class.

That's some positive news. Nice to hear amongst all the drama. I am taking the interview and will accept, if offered the job. I'll let the rest play out as it may.

Talked to someone today who interviewed last week and received a CJO today for a July 14th class date. Company is still interviewing and hiring and planning classes and evidently multiple offers and class dates went out today. I would go with that until they’re not. And as of now, management has flat out said this is the plan.

As an aside, as current hiring continues, classes are currently starting every week with 15-20 per class. If you choose to “wait and see” what happens even for a month or two, that’s potentially 100-200 people you let ahead of you who now have seniority on you. Seniority is always important but especially now it’s even more important. Even if reduced flying happens for an extended amount of time and movement slows down, it will determine if you’re based where you want to be or are you now at an outpost longer than anticipated, it could determine how long you’ll sit reserve, it will mean a difference in upgrade time, etc..... a lot of things that aren’t worth the speculation and “IF’s”.

The insights really help. Having never flown 121, there's a lot of mystery of the inner-workings. Getting a seniority number now, versus waiting, is a big factor in continuing as originally planned.

Scope clauses will get in the way of your managements plan. It's not their fault, but they are given flying and they staff it. If mainline planes park, you guys will have far fewer jets to staff. What will happen remains to be seen, but to say it is outside the realm of possibility is an extremely myopic viewpoint.
