That's right at 25% of pilots currently on the line. If true I find it surprising they went that high because they can have additional rounds in the future if things don't improve, so why not start out on the low end.

With all this going on, let’s say the people who had class dates eventually got hired on. How many years would you be commuting to
reserve and dealing with no flying?
I feel like this may take a while and just curious to what that does with getting the base of your choice and holding a line ect. And with business travel taking a hard hit I wonder if normal will ever be normal again.

The second thing is commuting and reserve. Honestly, when things return to normal so will reserve times as Republic will still presumably staff the same number of pilots per plane in active service. How long will normal be and when will hiring start back up again? Who knows, but I think it is safe to say now that it won't be a matter of months, but a matter of years. How many years before all furloughs are brought back and hiring starts again, who knows?

Realistically, I agree this will be a very long time. What sucks the most is all the great schedules, fast upgrades, and movement will without a doubt be years until a recovery. I know we all got somewhat spoiled seeing how good everything was from 2017-2019. I hope it comes back at least to a point where people can still enjoy it. But then again the new bailout package could help a ton.

I'm sorry, but I'm going to strongly disagree with you on that. Another bailout just delays the inevitable again. Numbers aren't trending in the right direction, and if it's not covid, the impending economic recession will get to the airlines. All these bailouts are just bandaids for the inevitable. I don't want to get furloughed either, but I also don't want to see the government cherrypicking which private industries to mingle in. The money is better spent funding unemployment benefits that will go to helping every person, not just select companies. Eventually though, the government money is going to run out for everyone...it will just happen on another administration's watch.

it’s actually below the number, most of the legacies are furloughing. If think don’t improve by spring 2021, then I expect a second round of furloughs and downgrades.
