If you can drive to EWR, then EWR. You'll be off reserve immediately vs. a few months in PHL, and the shorter trips go junior, whereas junior FOs in PHL get 4 and 5 day trips.

I know people who willingly choose to subject themselves to EWR daily. I do not know why they do it, but they do. Masochists, perhaps. It is among the biggest clusterf*cks in all of American commercial aviation. Daily. The only reason to ever bid EWR if you have other drivable options would be for an earlier upgrade opportunity, IMO.

To each his own. I just needed to vent. 😂

True, but, I make an extra 12ish hours a month on their tomfoolery.

Lol, “Tomfoolery”, I love it. EWR would be a bit farther but well within 2 hours. I guess the goal is better routes and more flying to upgrade sooner and hold a line sooner. I’m no spring chicken. Started this game late so have to keep the wheels turning.

Personally, when I was at RPA I liked the UA trips the most. I found it was the easiest codeshare to maximize daily credit but minimize the legs per day. AA trips were hit or miss, and DL trips had the most amount of tail swaps, most amount of legs with the least amount of daily credit, and the most amount of MX issues.

EWR has 3 runways. If they have to use 11/29 forget ever getting in/out of there on time.

I can handle annoying, I sold building materials for many years. I'm just looking to get on the bast path forward. It's a long game thing. I don't want easy, I want opportunity.

.. as long as the meter is running...
It's the EDCT on the way back that'll make you want to pull your hair out. Again though, that's not on RPA.

Could someone share how the reserve schedule would most likely look? How many on/off in a row?
