He is correct I left there at the end of May. Pittsburg had 80 openings. All (or mostly all) classes are get Pittsburg. Then you can keep your transfer in and hope to transfer out during the next bidding process (which runs about every 3 months). Until they fill those 80 vacancies with people staying in Pittsburg, you can guarantee new hire classes will still be assigned Pittsburg. Once you have enough seniority to transfer out, you can. Good news about Pittsburg, you’d hold a line quickly. There is honestly no reason whatsoever to come to Republic over a AA WO. All the AA WO get the same work rules that Republic has (except junior manning) and those rules go in effect Oct 1. So if you want DCA go to AA WO and enjoy the $40,000 (base pay) raise plus bonuses. Unless you are too scared to fly a CRJ 700/900 or a E145?

The company cannot afford to stop hiring FOs because they still need CAs and really the only reliable way to get CAs is to have enough FOs stay that will upgrade. They are trying to force that through sheer numbers.
Also don't listen to CFI. He is a newb that doesn't understand the industry. He still thinks the most important thing about any airline is first year FO pay.

The obvious YX strategy right now is stall the contract till the recession hits, the music stops, and the attrition stops, and the union NC loses all leverage. Even if we get an economic proposal anytime soon we won't be voting on anything till towards the end of the year.

They can't afford to not hire FO's. At some point the FO's on property now will be upgrading. If RPA stops hiring, they create a gap 2 years down the road and that is a problem. There are avenues to take such as shrink class sizes, run only 2 classes per month instead of 4, etc., but they have to keep hiring.
That being said, if the bottom falls out of the industry in the fall, you may see a slight pause in hiring.

My mistake! I actually had 4 two day trips last month. Not sure why i saw two last night. But still to clearify, FO’s are definetely flying less than what was told. Being a 1/25 new hire and still a low time F/O EWR based.

you'll understand once you're in this industry for a bit, it is hard to explain for somebody new to it. The LIMFAC is not the fact RPA is losing trips, it's the fact they are losing CAs at an alarming rate (along with every other regional). That means there are more than enough FOs to cover the trips that all the CAs available can cover which means being used less on FO reserve. The good news is that there are more green days where you can drop reserve days and pick up trips in open time or the trade boards.

Nobody, and I mean literally nobody in this industry put any weight into first year FO pay at any airline until very recently. That’s why we all knew you were either an idiot or a phony.

Agreed, but if you did not have an offer by the time you are ready to upgrade you would be foolish not to upgrade at first avaliable and get that TPIC time. Which is why I say they need to hire as many FOs as possible so there will be some left behind to upgrade when eligible.
