They also get their $187,000.00 in bonuses (compared to YX 11,000.00) and commuter hotels (which YX offers no commuter benefits). They also get fully paid training, unlike YX’s 1000.00 pay for month 1. But YX has no junior manning. YX has but doesn't implement/use airport ready reserve.
There is NO REASON (except for living in base) to even work at Republic right now. Hopefully for the pilot group, YX Mgmt comes to the table with the check book, or the new hire classes are going to get smaller and with 100-200 leaving per month for LCC/ULCC/Mainline your monthly lines are going to be built at 90+ hrs per month and you'll be down to 13-ish days off per month.
Good Luck!

A different take…
It is set to expire and can be amended/extended in two years. So it can go either way, but the new regular pay rates they revert to are still far above those of RPA. Remeber AA W/O F/O's with 750TT go to Captain payscale (the new rate at cpt yr 2 is 150.00/hr). AA W/O Yr 3 Cpt Pay Scale without the extra money is 107.50/hr. Republic Year 3 Cpt Scale is 96 (so still a 11.50/hr pay increase). The starting F/O pay scale would revert to 64.00/hr, RPA starting pay is currently 46 (so a 18.00/hr pay increase).
They also get their $187,000.00 in bonuse still and commuter hotels. They also get fully paid training, unlike YX.
But YX has no junior manning. YX has but doesn't implement/use airport ready reserve.

You have no idea on the population that is coming up and becoming the workforce in our industry. Older folks will definitely understand the pain the industry has gone though and know how important it is to get paid now.
The younger generation is slightly different. If you think a 22-25 year old is going to tolerate making a lot of money while being treated like crap is going to happen, you really have no clue. And guess what, the vast majority of pilots coming are closer to 25 than 35. It’s just a new generation where Culture and I’d dare to say “style” of life is just as important as salary.
Don’t believe me, I’ve had conversations or interviews with about 15 people in the last month or so that have left their regionals during training or right after OE to go somewhere else. Why? They saw the true colors of the company very quickly.
I like this new generation, they’re not stupid. They know we’ll what’s important to them and go after it.
Now as far as Republic, I agree the company needs to do something soon in terms of salary or recruitment/retention will become a huge problem. But in the meantime, I’ll give them lots of credit for having things in place that makes the company attractive from a culture standpoint to the new generation of pilots.

You automatically assume people like working here..... Don't get me wrong I'm pretty happy at YX but a lot of folks aren't and this is the nail in the coffin for those and those folks on the fence...If BB raised the pay to somthing close to this I'd just upgrade and hangout here and enjoy the benefits of seniority until my dream gig called,if they never called so be it. Making half the money the Envoy guys get to fly the same plane has me considering taking their DEC offer and some juicy bonus cash and heading to Envoy and finally getting to see some of the Caribbean flying I came to YX for. I know I'm not the only person who's close to upgrade thinking like this. That's the problem at YX is we have a ton of junior FOs but we are extremely short of captains meanwhile BB and the rest of the Carmel crew have their heads in the sand while they drag their feet and this airline down.

Exactly! And Delta is going to change the whole regional model next and absorb Endeavor and bring them all on board. That will put a stop to the high pay rates going back and forth. If only YX would jump in and play too.

I said this would happen years ago. That the legacy carriers can afford to run their owned regionals at a loss to keep the feed going to/from outstations keeping the mainline flights full. AA currently runs it as a cost center.
Next comes bankruptcies, buyouts and mergers.
We're already seeing the competition with Frontier, Spirit and Jetblue. They're buying the staffing as much as the equipment and routes they don't already operate.

Rumor mill is PSA is holding out due to not wanting PBS and to give up their schedule adjustment period. PSA was offered the same deal.
