They are supposed to open the new training center with Sims in Carmel, IN in October 2022. If that timeline is still the case, the classes/hiring will slow or stop during Sept/Oct to facilitate the move.

+1 asked about moving my class date up during that time frame and they told me "don't count on it, we're gonna be busy with the training center"

LOE= line oriented evaluation (checkride in sim)

hope that helps.

Housing During Training
Can anyone speak from recent training experience on the total footprint of their training? I have a class date coming up, and currently live across the country. I have the option to either renew my lease for another chunk of months, or throw all my stuff in storage for the duration of training and rely on the hotel provided by RPA. I would consider looking at apartments at some of the domiciles, but don't know which one I'll be assigned after training (and I want to make sure I live in-base). They quoted 95 days being the current training footprint (including IOE) in the intro email, with a couple segments of training spent at home doing iPad training or on breaks. Is it a good idea to continue to have an apartment across the country during training for things like breaks, delays, and at-home iPad training? Or should I save the rent money and stick with the RPA-provided hotel during training?

Also for ethos you will be home for 2 weeks learning off your ipad
Just keep the apartment just to be safe unless you have someone else you can stay with in the event they send you home for a gap in training.

I'd also recommend renewing your lease, if you can do so for a few months at a time. Seems like that would be a lot to deal with during training. If you can't renew, plan on somewhere you can crash for a few weeks if they send you home for a bit, or (knock on wood) you don't make it through training. Not pleasant to think about but good to plan for.

Story time here. We had a new hire in my class who was trying to find an apartment, sign a lease, and move his family into it after he got assigned his first base during training. He created so much stress and time suck for himself that he didn't make it through the training. He had a lot of flying experience too. I'd be VERY careful about doing this. I'm sure there are those who are successful at it, but, my advice would be concentrate on the training! When you get out, get an apartment in your base with no lease or other temporary situation, then look around and find something more permanent while you're on reserve. Just something to think about.
