I would hope so.

Someone unsophisticated
Someone desperate
Someone who wants to go to UPS and needs 1000 TPIC
Someone who's from Indianapolis
Someone who sorta planned to do what the agreement specifies already
Someone under 23 who can't get a full ATP for a couple years anyway
Someone young who thinks (however incorrectly) that if they get on at a major in 2027 at age 27 that they'll have a great career because how can you not with 30 years seniority at age 57

Depends how many new FO's republic needs. If it's 10 per month they'll probably make it.

Nope. Depends on how many of their FOs stick around long enough to be CAs.

Thats the unfortunate part of all these kids getting into aviation now. They have no idea they already missed it. Anyone hired by the big 3 past 2026-27 will be riding the back side of the seniority list for a very long time.

That’s a lot of commuting to a coastal base to sit reserve over a career. Not to mention they’re going to be furloughed at least once or twice.

I mean "if republic's goal is to hire 10 FO's per month under this plan, I think they might make that quota"

Not predicting if it's part of a viable airline through 2024

“The Agreement” mentioned that the $100,000 penalty was necessary in part due to pilots learning trade secrets while in training. I had never before considered that working for a regional airline offered the opportunity to learn trade secrets. Certainly many valuable life lessons are learned, like how to apologize to a planeful of passengers that LGA is LGA-ing again, or that ORD wants 300 on the way in and 250 on the way out, or the Canadian names for the limited kinds of cheese offered at the Subway outside security at YUL. Perhaps those really are trade secrets. Eye opening.
