Republic after the contract
#1012
Hey all, I've been out of the airline game for a couple years, but was thinking about a possible return. How is republic since the new contract? I'm thinking about applying to different regionals again, but want to make sure I know enough about them. Ideally I'd like to be ORD based, but I understand that's pretty senior. How do you all feel about the direction in which the industry is headed as well as the positives and negatives about republic? I've read through the thread, would just like the most up to date info and thoughts. Thanks!

E-175 will go very JR and you will be lineholders in no time. If you want CRJ they will give 5k extra sign up bonus.

Out of the two which would be the better pick? Or in the end is a regional just a regional? QOL, what types of lines, (all 4 days or mixed) thanks!

15k sign in bonus for envoy + 5k if you get the CRJ. I think eventually they will extend the Retention Bonus.
Envoy has 1-2-3-4 days. We don't know how it will be the lines in the 175 ORD, but they are calling people in the pool offering the plane and the base.
E-145 are the guys being more abused systemwide, CRJ is better flying wise since the legs are longer. Summer it's being awefull for every regional.
You will get a guaranteed job at AA one day, it could be in 6, 10 or 15 yrs, nobody knows. But it's good to have it in your backpocket while looking for other jobs.
Travel benefits are the same as AA mainline employees.
Other options for you out of Ord would be Skywest, Xjet, maybe TSA. Look at the pro and cons of all of them, get job offers and then decide.
