Don't go to RAH for a base. Their history of opening and closing bases is legendary.

Just announced via company email, we are adding 6 additional E170 aircraft to be flown for Delta. Deliveries are scheduled starting in April 2017 with 2 per month!

Add that to the previously announced 8 aircraft coming back for AA and the 12 new deliveries for UA, we are slated to grow by 26 aircraft in 2017. Exciting time to be at Republic!

(Edit: Not clear where the 6 DL aircraft are coming from. If being transferred from another codeshare, then the "growth" aircraft would be 20.)

Those 6 are probably the ones coming from Compass.

Why is compass losing 6 airplanes? I hate gaining aircraft at another carriers expense.

Essentially we were told that they are aircraft that serve more flying out east. Flying that doesn't line up with our more mid and west coast flying. It looks like our management doesn't think that flying synergizes with our current business model.

Is it at our expense? Maybe in the short term, but in the long run I don't think it's going to hurt us very much. We've been told this reduction in aircraft isn't a punitive action by Delta.

The birds came from us at Compass but no worries. As one who put in his time at Republic, I can attest that rarely the pilots have anything to do with birds coming on property. We voted down crappy TA's at Republic to better ourselves and the industry and we still were getting new planes. Planes will revolve and will continue to revolve. CP is more of a west coast airline so to get rid of the only 170's in the fleet made some sense.

Any guess if these new Compass birds means we will be taking over the SDF-MSP and SDF-DTW routes? Seems like we're inching closer to getting an SDF base again.

I don't see us growing anywhere but along the East Coast. I'm just now starting to put out applications to the jobs I really desire which will base me back west. Republic has been a great experience but it has meant a long commute home and I don't see that changing anytime soon for any West Coasters coming aboard.

Doubtful, SDF is a maintenance base for Compass. It's our understanding these planes are going to be operated in the Northeast.

Over four years to upgrade here at RAH. If you're chasing an upgrade this is definitely not the place to be. Although we might have the highest pay rates we still have some of the longest upgrade times. So the only real reason to come to RAH would be if you lived near or in one our bases. I'm not saying this is a bad place to work, I'm extremely happy I came to work for RAH back in 2013, but those looking for quick upgrades and captain pay should look at other regionals before coming here. Then again for all you college grades fresh out of flight school with restricted ATPs don't forget that you'll need that 1000hrs of 121 time to upgrade. Pretty sure I broke some kids heart when I told him this. I guess they never told him that back in Florida at his overpriced aviation university.

When I was looking they told me less than that but the junior hire was 2012. So I went with Piedmont which junior upgrade was a year and just recently went to a 7/2016 hire. If you get more planes and people leave it could go down but I went with PDT as we are getting lots of jet deliveries starting next month.
