This same mentality is why just a few years ago they had pay to fly jobs. I love flying like everyone else but, if it means working yourself to death and, not being fairly compensated count me out.

For those in the past, do you have to check your bag yourself when traveling to training or does the airline pick that up? I'm traveling on United tomorrow and my email asking this has not been returned and the travel department is closed today at YX...

It's free to check your bag.

You are "positive space", no charge. But, word to the wise, pack such that you don't have to. Carry on, don't check. You'll thank me one day.

I just went through the in house CTP course, it was a very easy process, and all the instructors were great. They put us in the Wingate during the ground portion in Indy, then they put us in the Marriott Res Inn in CVG for sims, which was extremely nice. They did split us between the 145/170 sims, but we each got 16 hours across 4 days in the full motion sims, and I learned a lot in the 170 sim. However, they were talking about bringing it down to 12 hours to free up sim time, and moving everyone to the 170 because they got a buyer for all the 145 time they had laying around.

Friend went there, liked it a lot. He's new to jets, and found it educational.

Default New Hire Questions

Hello all, I just accepted my offer with RAH, I have have been flying "corporate" for the past year flying primarily the Baron G58 and some King Air work. I am making the switch for better QOL and closer base locations to my family. Wondering if anyone has a copy of the contract they can PM me, as well as general pointers for training and the good VS. not so good bases (mainly looking for lower reserve times). Finally, any one here going to be in the February 14th FO class?

Super 8 is just that, a Super 8. It houses primarily RAH training crews from ATP/CTP to AQP CQ. Rooms are adequate. Microwave and baby fridges. Free "hot" breakfast of fake eggs, sausages, and cold cereals and oatmeal. Dinner is also free and ranges from Costco lasagna trays to home made Indian (hotel owner's wife makes it fresh) curries and tandala dishes. If you like south Asian cuisine, you like that part.

Hotel proprietor just bought the Stacks Diner next door. Look for free dinner coupons starting in late February or March instead of the meals in the hotel.

RAH needs more personalities like this. My experience was 90% of the pilot group were spineless victims who were just "doing what they love."
