What's your date in November and was the earliest they had or earliest you were available?
Just curious as I'm about 36hrs from ATP but have not gotten a firm class date yet.
In fact I just received my official offer letter of employment today after getting the verbal offer back in August.

Hi guys a couple of quick questions. Without having to dig through a lot of posts can somone please answer the following? I'm a 757/767 Captain for United trying to help out a good friend.
1: What are competitive minimums for Replublic?
2: How junior is PHL & EWR?
3: How's new hire training?
Thanks in advance!

2: EWR is being awarded to new hires and the junior line holder has a 4/16 hire date.
PHL is also being awarded to new hires and the junior line holder is a 2/16 hire.
3: I recently went through the training program as a transfer. Having already gone through a part 121 training program, it was easy. We had a few new hires in class that struggled a little, but were given a fair shot. It's not terribly uncommon to receive extra sims or extra time to complete IOE. The fact is regionals are struggling to find pilots, so they will do all they can to get people through.
4: Any advice how to crack the code to get an interview at United would be greatly appreciated.

1: In the current regional hiring climate, If they have 1500 hours and a pulse, they're almost guaranteed an interview at any regional they apply for.

I wish I had good info on how do get an interview at UAL. I'm former CAL where pilots really had the ability to help a fellow pilot get an interview and get hired. At United HR is in the drivers seat as to getting the interview.
I will say the following. Management has been saying 220 additional mainline aircraft and 16000 pilot seniority list in the years ahead. I personally believe in a few years United like all legacies are going to be hurting to find pilots. That has also been confirmed by personal conversations I've had with a few United pilot recruiters.
Best of luck and thanks again for your response.

Thanks for your response! So it's not more difficult to get hired by Republic then other regionals due to superior aircraft (170/175)?

Thanks for the intel. Been working on checking boxes, so hopefully I can get in towards the front end of this hiring wave.

Don't feed into their ego, a jet is a jet. And that 'superior aircraft' just means it does more of the work for you.

Commutair's pilots get a guaranteed United interview. Endeavor and Delta Private Jets pilots get a guaranteed Delta interview. AA wholly owned pilots don't interview, they just get an AA class date. But guys still want to fly "superior aircraft." There are many good reasons to fly for Republic. SJS isn't one of them.

3/6/16 hire from what I'm seeing.
Figure that person was about 3 months for ground school, sim, and IOE, so looks like he's probably spent 3 months on reserve in LGA. With that said, there are lots of factors at play right now. We suddenly parked a bunch of AA planes that are headed back to the line soon. Plus this is the low season for us with respect to the number of lines.
It's just an opinion, but I would guess that someone hired right now might not face more than a month or two of reserve, especially since we will be merged with Shuttle at the end of January.

RSV time varies greatly by base and position. East Coast = less RSV. West bases (MCI and ORD), especially after upgrade, equal RSV for several years. I'm at ~6 years of RSV.
But as a new FO you won't be on RSV more than a few months probably anywhere. Commuting to RSV at this company is especially painful though, so attempt to avoid it if at all possible.
