This chart is using Current pilots in base and DOh. I like using the awards and DOH as it gives a better look into the future for times to get into a base. Example, PiT is actually the most senior base currently and has the longest wait, while Miami has become rather junior.
Just quick explanation of why I use pilots currently in base and not awards. Awards still have a 3 month wait until you actually get to move into the newly awarded base (unless you request earlier which is sometimes allowed). I just like showing how long between class and when you can officially move into the base. this is all very fluid but I think it gives best idea of actual wait time. Going by award just seems like cheating the time required to hold the base is all.

Doesn't it say in the vacancy posting that base swaps will be effective the following bid month?

Yes, when it's an actual swap and not filling a vacancy. I don't recall any base swaps over the last few months.

Well the thing is they don't do base swaps like they used to (send out the memo in comply to protest it). It's all automatic through the vacancy process. So I have no clue how long it would take.

I know that. I think when it's a base swap it says 'swap' off to the right on the awards instead of 'vacancy'.

I've seen it take longer. Recruiting department is currently a disaster. They hired my friend then called him later that week to interview. Called asking if he had the mins yet. Then called yet again saying he got the job after they already told him.

I had a similar experience almost 2 years ago. Pretty sure they emailed me the welcoming packet like 3 times.
