Republic after the contract
#2791
Does republic have a hiring process where if you apply with less than 1000 hours, you can interview and if successful they can offer you a job.
Air Wisconsin has something similar.
....you update your hours every week

Yes. It's the Rjet Cadet program they have. That's basically exactly what it is.

I believe that applies to students who are enrolled in 141 school.
I did my part 61 years ago and I have a FT flying job now.
They will credit I believe up to 200 hours of flight time before reaching 1500

Hmm interesting.. I would reach out to a recruiter and ask them more about the details.

What's the training footprint for someone who already has an e170 type? About 4 months interview to IOE? Also I heard a rumor of a new crew base opening, would that send new hires to the new base and extend reserve time in LGA/EWR? Also are any contracts expiring soon on flying especially Dalta flying, with the mainline C series planes supposed to replace regional flying in some places ? Really thinking of jumping ship at CP but don't want it to blow up in my face in 6 months at Republic

I hope Delta and other Mainline partners take back flying. No Regional is stable in this climate. This is a positive thing. Regionals take jobs away from your potential seat at mainline. Ive been following the Compass thread for the past few Months and notice a lot of distain. If you look back at Republics history when I first started at here 3.5 years ago you would notice an even worse situation. No contract, backstabbing management, #1 in cancellations for a few months, Delta suing us, flight attendants turning against us, bankruptcy imminent etc.... Honestly, I think you should really reconsider what you are about to do. Things are better here, but definitely not mainline quality. All regionals suck. If you asked me where I would rather be 3 years ago I would have said Compass because of the West coast base (I live out west) and fast upgrade. I assume you want the flight time to look attractive at a Mainline interview, but you will also have to explain why you left one regional for another. Everything on your resume is free game for them to ask.
You probably heard about IAH opening. That is a fantasy. Don't believe anything unless you see it happen, it will help your wellbeing. I don't know how to respond to the rest of your questions but I'm sure someone else can. Good luck to you, I wish you the best. I hope you feel the same about me, we're all in this together.

I am interviewing with Republic in the next couple of weeks. I have been flying corporate Part 91 for the last few years in the King Air as a PIC and SIC on the CE-500. I have a few questions that I could not find the answer to in the last hundred pages. I would appreciate any info. Thanks
1. If hired I would want DCA out of training, as it is a one leg commute for me which I see is probably possible.
2. Are crashpads easy to find around DCA? Cost per month?
3. How likely are you to get overnight trips on reserve?
4. Do they pay any company hotels for commuters per month?
5. What is a pay check after training look like?
6. Any second year FO’s that could say what their check is?
