Does the XLS not have a takeoff configuration warning system (including Parking Brakes)?

N91GY will probably be the same thing and one wonders if a warning should have been given by FAA/Cessna although I would think the parking brake would be on the TO checklist since it was not part of the TO warning system.
Yeah looks like a trend. Can't imagine why it wouldn't be on the TO Config system... the reason that we have TO config systems is because checklists didn't always work back in the day.

Based on a pdf of the system I Googled, it has a no takeoff warning that does not include the parking brake.

I don’t have any experience with the type so this is just a curious question….
I see the focus is on the brakes being applied, potentially inadvertently, but is it possible they tried to abort however the thrust levers were stuck at T/O power instead?

The prelim on this accident specifically states the parking brake isn’t on the take-off warning. No idea why that is so. If there was brake pressure being applied, that would explain the lack of rotation.

Can’t say I’ve never tried to taxi when cleared onto the runway with the parking brake set…….
Hold short for landing traffic…..*parking brake set* ….cleared for immediate take off.
You know, one of those.

While it's possible, there are usually several things they can cross-reference to determine the condition of the engines and power levers during takeoff.

A professional crew should have the presence of mind to use the master cutoffs or fire buttons.

This Australian Accident with a Bravo seems the same. But it seems Textron has not put the parking brake on the TO checklist on any of their aircraft that don't have a TO warning for it. You might argue that it is an airmanship item but that doesn't prevent incidents. The report does reference a 2008 Textron safety notice for pilots to check 3 things regarding the brakes, including the parking brake, before TO. How widely that would be known I don't know.

I talked to a XL pilot yesterday morning while waiting around the FBO.
I asked him if he had following this mishap. He hadn’t.
When I told him what the prelim had stated he was blown away.
I asked him about his use of the brakes and he said that once leaving the line that he never uses the parking brake unless he is told there will be a long delay for takeoff for example.
