No injuries reported and we'll all learn later what happened and see if it teaches us something new or helps us be better pilots, till then, no injuries is a great thing.

Landed RWY 13C apparently. Tough conditions for anyone with a gusty crosswind and short rain slickened runway. Still trying to figure out how they missed the EMAS setup at the end of the runway.

Might have tried to make the turnoff onto the taxiway to buy a little pavement, but with it being slick just couldn't make it

Cost is the least of my worries if I'm flying off the end of the runway....especially if a busy Cicero Avenue is mere feet away from the end. Better for everyone on the plane and the street traffic if I hit the EMAS which is designed to stop me a lot better than the grass. Let's face it, ending up in the mud or the EMAS are both bad choices, but the EMAS is better for everyone.
Strictly guessing here, he probably hoped he could make the high speed turn onto 'E' which has a wide run-up area and just didn't negotiate the turn.
