it also wasn't a full upgrade course requiring you to make some hard decisions and show proper time management/threat management skills. Almost anyone can get a type rating in the sim. It's real world Captain IOE and fed ride that is the kick into reality....
I agree, however that's not what the argument was here. "ANY PROP CAPTAIN" meaning it's believed you can't go from the left seat of a 50 seat prop to the left seat of a 50 seat RJ (or larger). My point was the CL-65 was no more difficult to receive then my "turbo prop" type. I agree, you learn way more in the upgrade class than just flying the plane, but in this situation the pilot is already a captain so it's skill being compared, not decision making ability.

Every 121 category airplane has its challenges during training. We've had a few CRJ guys wash out of our training just as I'm sure you've had prop guys wash out of yours. I don't think you'd ever make it to IOE until you're ready because I don't know many who don't pass it. Not every airline has a fed ride. We're AQP so we don't have them.

A prop CAPTAIN should have no issues transitioning to a left sean in a RJ. If they do, then they were never a strong captain/ pilot in the first place but please don't say that it's easier to be a prop captain. It would be nice of every captain flew right seat for 6 months before upgrading in that same equipment, it's just not always practical.
