Quote: So the 757 is a WB now? I was looking at the open time today for Ewr 756. I saw a 4 day that only paid like 12 hours. It sat some place for 48 hours. When the 5 hour per day rig kicks in...that trip will pay 20, correct? Or does that 5 per day only apply to days that you actually fly?
Whatever trip you are talking about also pays more than 12ish. If it sits for more than 29 hours it triggers the rig under the old C'02. It will pay in reality 16 and change. Look at Guar Time and add to block time. It should equal the actual pay time.

Quote: It will be 5 hours per day average for the trip, but that doesn't start until September. Another reason I voted no.

You are wrong. It starts it March. But why should facts get in the way?

Must have confused that one with the dozen things we have to wait 9 months for. I don't have the LOA with me.

It starts for pay purposes in March. For line value credit September. In esseence ALPA bailed out Unical staffing for another summer.

Did I miss it? Has anyone seen the schedule for when the snapshots are going to occur? Its usually in the bulletin or is it in the E-docs? I didn't find it in either spot. Just curious.

Quote: Are there any numbers out regarding surpluses? For example, might some or all of these vacancies be "funded" with CLE pilots getting displaced?

Yeah, I know. I too am a dork curious about how this might impact future hiring.
Not sure how you are interpreting the bid, but there are no displacements out of CLE. Displacements would show as a (XX) on the bid. CLE shows "-" in both seats meaning no increase and no decrease in pilots staffed there.

In theory, CLE could still have vacancies if enough people currently in CLE bid to a different BES. However, more than likely, the base is being shrunk via attrition.

Quote: Can anyone explain the large number of 756 FO vacancies? Are they anticipating all the 757 FOs to bid up? It's not like they are adding more airplanes or block hours.
My completely guess is these vacancies reflect the slow integration of the L-UAL 75/76 domiciles in NYC and IAH?

"The expectation is that all United pilots would compete for those vacancies for which training and advancement has not been scheduled, based upon their new seniority."

Of course the capt numbers don't match so maybe it is a bad theory...
