Do they do a practice run of the bid? Are you able to see where you would stand under different bid scenarios before the final bids are awarded?

This is just the CAL side. The movement is picking up where it left off five years ago with the change to age 65.

Yes. Normally twice before the bid closes.

Are there any numbers out regarding surpluses? For example, might some or all of these vacancies be "funded" with CLE pilots getting displaced?

Yeah, I know. I too am a dork curious about how this might impact future hiring.

It seems, they need to hire. One the list is combined, one can easily assure that the UAL side will be short and have retirement also. One can hope.

Default True Vacancies

To all:

Look at the actual Standing System Bid page, not just the bulletin that was put out. There are not as many vacancies as you think. The bulletin that was put out contains the "vacancies as those that haven't attended training yet" off of our last bid, plus the new projected vacancies. That is a much higher number than actual open pilot positions.

In all actuality, there are only a total of 24 open Captain slots to bid for along with 115 First Officer slots covering all fleets and bases on the sCAL side. So keep that in mind.

Here's the picture of what I'm talking about. This is directly of our sCAL Standing System Bid page. I deleted my relative seniority information, but other than that this is the complete page. As you can see, not as many open slots to bid for as the bulletin states.

I think that screen is from the previous bid...but I could be wrong. I wonder how many years until our bidding system or CCS interface will make sense to me?
