I did hear that from G.W., he said they are still strongly considering the FO pay raises and other retention ideas. I've expressed to management over and over again, that the longer they wait, the deeper hole they will need to dig out of. It may come to a point to where the hole starts to fill with water and we can never recover. I personally have given the company up until the end of Feb to make an announcement before I explore making a lateral move, or going somewhere else.
That dangling carrot has been out there for a couple of years now. It is all empty promises just to keep you on property.

Our CPA has been extended and no planes will be parked. (unless we can't staff them)
Our training dept has all the E175 training books and we are ready to launch. (more so on the erj side) Guess who used that program that XJT paid for and set up.
We extended our CPA again as far as you (pilots) know, but we are not telling any of our share holders about it.

Who used your 175 program?? Not Skywest.. the writing is on the wall. They will keep hiring as they will need to.. but i think the future is need handed. Small profitable airline..

  • I think the 2007-2011 hiring lull was on the L-XJT side. On the L-ASA there was no hiring between 6-2008 and 9-2010. So there should be a about a 2.5 year drop in upgrade time when we get there.
  • Yes upgrade times are 9 years right now on L-ASA.
  • Yes training pay is 65 hours. Pay used to be $400/week so this is a big improvement.

Xjt will hire right up until they furghlough or begin to downgrade. They know if they they stop hiring they prob will not be able to restart. They need to keep staffing up for a few months until the aircraft begin leaving and this helps with attrition. Why would anyone want to come here? 30 plus airframes leaving, scope basically maxed at delta... It's a net loss of around 350 pilot positions.. Writing is on the wall, best scenario for the super senior guys, in a couple years what little of Xjt is left gets rolled into Skywest once the numbers prevent any real chance of a union drive.

It might be an improvement for XJT, but it still falls short of the other regionals that pay min guarantee at full rates. That's still another $370 a month that XJT is short and most other airlines have a bonus on top of that figure.

Get out. Take a lateral move. Fly a G4. Go fly ANYTHING from the left seat that burns jet fuel.

Get out NOW. Seriously. Hit on all cylinders....pull every string, call in every favor you can and JUST GET OUT.

I spent 9 years working for ASA and this management group. You need to take the blinders off. You need to go now.

^i agree. And in the end there will still be CRJ200 feed for ATL. It just won't be ASA doing it. So if your motivation is to stay in ATL go now before ATL goes senior.. (who ever flys it)

Is DTW junior or senior to Atl or Dfw on the 200?
