From an application standpoint, I feel I am competive at Delta. However, when on a spring break trip in college I got caught drinking on a fake ID. Will that be a deal breaker?

I doubt it. Just take responsibility for the mistake. Be honest, & show them you learned from it.

I've flown with a few check airman recently - they all say that hiring will not stop; the rate of hiring will simply be adjusted monthly on an on-demand basis.

You're doomed. Now if you were the NTSB intern who gave the fake names, you'd be IN...:

I'm no expert, but similar situations have been brought up in other threads. I would imagine, if you don't have a flow/SSP interview, You have to think about who you are competing with for a very small number of off the street slots. If Delta wants to only hire regional check airman, with 5000+ hours, 3.0 or higher college GPA, between 5'10" - 6'2", 180-230lbs, and with no criminal record whatsoever, Delta will probably get enough qualified candidates for those very few slots. I have a feeling once the flows and pinnacle SSP have been exhausted then we will see guys with a few black eyes on their application. Good luck. Sorry you got caught, I don't know anyone with a social life that didn't do that when they were younger.
