Delta Hiring News

You're welcome. Even if you do get NYC based, I found it enjoyable. It was a new job, you're treated well, and there's a wide variety of flying.
At the rate AEs will be coming out with the hiring machine finally churning, you'll find movement out very quickly.

Lol got me on that one. Can I blame my phones autocorrect?
The flow was taken away before I had a chance. I won't apologize for utilizing the SSP. It'll take 5+ years to get to my seniority number and I've been at this company for 14 years. If no one else hires me I will roll the dice with it. My union negotiated it and I'm glad they got something for us out of the ****can of a sham bankruptcy.

Since we are on the subject of entitlement; are you stuck in a particular base until an AE comes out. For example, let’s say you get NYC88 but want to be ATL88 and it takes 2 years for an AE, are you then stuck in NYC until an AE. Is AE the only type of bidding or is there more frequency in other bidding.
“Category freeze” means a period of time
a. that is determined under Section 22 G.... which reads 22.G.1. A pilot who is awarded an AE or VD will incur a 24-month category freeze, and an entry level pilot will incur a 12-month category freeze.
b. that commences on the date of a pilot’s award of an AE or VD for which qualification training is required or on an entry level pilot’s date of employment with the Company as a pilot, and
c. during which the pilot will (unless declared eligible by the Company) be ineligible to be awarded another AE with an earliest conversion date falling within the freeze period (other than to a new or reestablished category) for which qualification training is required.
So to reiterate: b. that commences on the date of a pilot’s award of an AE or VD for which qualification training is required or on an entry level pilot’s date of employment with the Company as a pilot, and
c. during which the pilot will (unless declared eligible by the Company) be ineligible to be awarded another AE with an earliest conversion date falling within the freeze period (other than to a new or reestablished category) for which qualification training is required.
22.G.1. A pilot who is awarded an AE or VD will incur a 24-month category freeze, and an entry level pilot will incur a 12-month category freeze.
So you should be able to make that move.
765* = 764.

No reason to apologize. Take what you can get - everyone else does, and you should too.

WELL SAID!
I'll be blunt: I don't think being an ALPA member should have any weight whatsoever on who gets hired. I also feel that flying for a regional carrier currently affiliated with Delta should have no bearing either.
I find the the attitude of entitlement among some regional pilots because "I'm ALPA" or because "I fly Delta passengers" offensive.
To paraphrase Scambo: I want Delta to hire the best candidates - period. And I want them to compete on an equal footing, without the equivalent of an ALPA national negotiated airline affirmative action program.
