Had the exact same thing happen (well, sorta, but close enough), and I put it down. I had a couple self-proclaimed hiring experts tell me not to put it down, but I figured since Delta puts such a big emphasis on attention to detail and not lying, I thought openness was a better option. If there's a question, put it down.

Never heard anything about it, including my interview. I also used it as a story. Got hired.

I’m really surprised they’d suggest not putting that down. That’s frigging GOLD for a TMAAT. ( Not that you WANTED that to happen...or did you?!?!?)

Their theory was that is was questionable whether it was an NTSB incident or not ("Incident means an occurrence other than an accident, associated with the operation of an aircraft, which affects or could affect the safety of operations."), and that it was better to leave any not-absolutely-required negative things off the application.

I felt otherwise. Delta cares about honesty. Personally, I felt it better to be more open than not. So I put it down.

Definitely. I'd prefer to have the interview people say, "Oh, that's not an incident, that's no big deal" than "why did you leave this situation with the damaged gear (or whatever) off the application?"

If that’s the case, an NTSB report should have been filed. If no report was made but you think it’s reportable, how do you answer that question in an interview?

Also, reportable events are further clarified:

“Failure of any internal turbine engine component that results in the escape of debris other than out the exhaust path”

I’m waiting on a January class as well. I just talked to them last week, there will be an Indoc class starting each week. Invites should start going out towards the ends of the month.

I believe invites have historically gone out approx 4-5 weeks prior, so my guess would be end of Nov at earliest for first Jan class.
