So is Delta pretty big on recommendations or are they really only taking the checkairmen, captains, ect..... For instance, I've been a regional FO for 3 years now. Meet all Deltas mins, (not by much) and have 2 close friends that are willing to "walk my paper" in. I plan on applying regardless so I don't self eliminate myself, just wanted to hear from anybody if they have heard about guys like myself getting an interview. Thanks for the input.

I believe the computer system flags apps to be pulled on a points basis. Your points will be increased if you have a letter of recommendation that is submitted from your friends delta.com email address. So when you apply via airlineapps, submit your LOR request to their delta.com email address, otherwise it scores less.

My recommendation is to apply and prepare. No one really knows who will be called. When I was hired in 2008 I had less then 1000 TPIC. I was never a LCA, and had no internal LORs. Just apply and start studying ASAP.

Glad to help. I'll double check on the points system. But I know for certain that in order for the internal LOR to carry weight it definitely needs to be from a delta.com email.

I guess I got hired without any internal recs then, because neither of the two had delta.com on them. That said, I use mine when I write a rec.

When you have a rec sent to someone the link asks for your "date of hire" if a Delta employee. The Delta Air Lines email requirement is incorrect.

The @delta.com email is so they don't have to verify the date of hire. Previous words from the hiring department last time around was to use the @delta.com instead of the home email address.

The delta email address thing is bogus. I talked to an chief pilot about that and said it doesn't matter. On the rec it asks for the date of hire which is what they look at. Not a delta email address.
