Is everybody finished with the measuring contest now and ready to properly answer this guy's question?

Here is the official position of the Atlas Pilots Executive Board as stated in a May 20 update:

Quote:
Reducing restrictions to foreign crews working in the U.S. The Executive Board of Local 2750 is strongly opposed to any further loosening of restrictions to allow foreign pilots to work in the U.S. We have enthusiastically welcomed our new crew members to Atlas from all over the world and will continue to do so.
In other words, the union is fine with the status quo. But not FURTHER LOOSENING of work rules.

They did not say they were fine with the status quo.

Quote: Maybe you company cheerleaders should at least wait until we have the same 15% DC retirement as Sun Country before you tell everyone how great it is at Atlas. We work more days than Kalitta and our pay rates are lower. That's how sad our new contract is.
If you think 15% DC is what makes Frontier or Sun Country a better option feel free to go test those waters…. Grass is always greener on the other side. Just watch out for those silly section 19s or constant melt downs due to unwillingness to invest in their operations to support growth that they desire but can’t….

Yet there are Kalitta guys telling folks to come to Atlas. It’s not like they work that much less…. Only 1 day less. Last time I checked, even with this new contract, we maintained our soft pay advantage over them.

Look, if you are concerned with spreadsheet numbers. Then make the jump if you haven’t. You’ll get hired at any of your choice of carriers with a little bit of effort. There’s no excuses if the spreadsheet numbers doesn’t meet your needs.

As usual, C17B74 nails it squarely on the head.
We all know a broken watch (analog of course) is right twice a day as they say but I really do appreciate the Bingo! Another decade and a half and I will be playing Bingo. I must admit even though I wear a watch I do look at the phone for time as well and especially in our long haul business. I enjoy the insight and perspectives you, Elevation, Birdsmash, CRJJ, Swakid8, TS, dera and many others bring to the table. A vary diverse group with backgrounds, experiences, origins like no other. Mcfadden ain’t wrong either as he just mentioned rates and DC and we definitely need improvements in other areas as well which has been a no brainer since Sept 21. Guess I will have to go back down to the beverage area here down under and see if I can get any contract negotiation pointers from any Frontier/Spirit and now Sun Country folks I may run into. Honestly, the Kalitta guy may be around so point taken.

*Apologies zerozero to Hero for answering the question. Sorry wasn’t quite done - If anyone thought there were going to be leaps and bounds of improvements they haven’t been paying attention. If you’re feeling bad and terrible now just wait to see how other ongoing negotiations turn out. You may need to seek other waters in order to meet your highest priorities. It’s not rocket science just an overall assessment.

**May not have heard it correctly, but was UA entertaining 19% DC? Now there’s a shiny penny which can only help others.

The United 19% is all rumors. Until the AIP is released to the pilot group. Just like they were rumored to get PSC as well, and 20 percent raises…. I’ll believe it when I see the language that is black and white.

One day more per month adds up to and extra year spent at work over a 30 year career. Plus K4 guys get to travel on their work days instead of before/after, which probably adds up to another year or two.

Quote: Identity and miscommunication is why. Somebody says there are better companies. People hear "You suck because you're not at a better company.".

For what it's worth I think Cathay, Emirates, etc. would be a better fit for Aussies than Atlas. I also think we're better served by hiring American ATPs than recruiting foreign crew. That said we fly to Sydney and have schedules that allow for regular travel to and from Australia to take care of family. That would be a very hard thing to pull off at Spirit or Frontier. I also misread the OP's post and thought he was talking about an ALPA-led drive to limit total E3s. Oops.
Cathay??? You been watching the news or talked to anyone in HKG?

Can’t leave your hotel room on a layover, wasting 2-3hrs after every HKG arrival at the airport awaiting your test result, PCR tests every 3-5 days, huge pay cuts, daily filling in of stupid forms and evidence of your movements and the constant fear that your family might get locked up at a government facility

The E3 visa is not just a pilot visa; looots of professionals in different fields use it work in the US (and vice versa there are Americans working in Australia)

Thanks for the replies lads. Guess I’ll have to meet an American lass on my next US layover.

Company cheerleaders? lol. You sure are bitter. Have YOU applied to Spirit / Frontier? or Jetblue, or Southwest, or American, or Delta, or United, or FEDEX, or UPS, or SUN COUNTRY.
You only see one side of the comments we make, the side you wanna see. Plenty of pros/cons explained. If you still wanna get mad at us for actually liking the place.....I'm sorry for you.
