Quote: Of course, all of us here at Atlas are at Atlas, not at some larger name that people recognize. That means, whether we acknowledge it or not, most of us have failed to make some interview or hiring process somewhere along the way.
Maybe so, but as a 1500 CFI, Atlas appears to be offering one of the best options out there. The difference when comparing it to any regional seems to justify the extra expense of being over-prepared. Of course, being new to the industry, I'm open to any suggestions or advice.

I used Emerald Coast Aviation. I didn’t leave my interview to chance.

It helped me during the interview actually. For example one piece of advice was to have an extra phone or iPad nearby in case the initial Skype call fell through.

For my technical interview which was going to be on Skype this happened. Luckily I had FaceTime on my backup iPad and was able to continue the interview, not to mention shown resourcefulness.

They also taught me what and what not to have on a resume and how to present myself during the interview.

I got hired with less than 1900 hours TT (500 SIC) into a wide body within a month of the interview- class date two months after. This was after the desperate precovid hiring.

granted I have other traits that make me particularly attractive for an airline but don’t we all to some degree?

so I recommend emerald coast or something similar.

And of course as soon as I say that, AA drops a bomb on the regional airline landscape...

You're in a great position.

Read the small print. Those high pay rates are only for 2 years. You easily make more money at Atlas than AA WO.

Man, I know it! I first learned to fly back in the late 2000's and wanted to make a career change then. But at the height of the recession, I couldn't justify leaving a good paying, secure job.

Haha, Dera is just an Atlas recruiter. Don't listen to them.

You can make much more at Envoy and Piedmont now. You'll be a Captain much earlier and if you're able to make LCA soon after those rates will double. You'll be making over $300 an hour potentially by your second year. And then there are all the bonuses!

Those rates can be extended past two years and probably will be.

Recruiter, yep thats me.

How is he making 300/hr by his second year? Ever heard of 121.436?
I know facts and reality dont really restrict you though. At AA WO, he will make 90/hr year 1, 100/hr year 2, and assuming he upgrades year 3, 107.5/hr year 3.
Boring facts, I know. Us recruiters deal with them sometimes.

If a pilot has 121 time they could potentially get direct captain upgrade or if they upgrade after a year they're at $150/hour. If they become an LCA it's doubled to $300. After two years the company has the option to extend those rates. And then there are all of the bonuses.

At Atlas it's 5+ years to upgrade unless you're on the 737.

If you bothered to read his post, you would have seen he is a 1500 hour CFI.
But I know you are not interested in these little facts of life.
